How to Use Kindle2Anki

Follow these steps to locate your Kindle vocabulary database, load it into Kindle2Anki, and generate an .apkg file ready for Anki.

1Find your Kindle file
Locate vocab.db
The Kindle vocabulary database is typically stored in the paths below. After locating the file, make sure to copy it to another folder on your system to ensure it can be accessed and later uploaded to the site.
  • Kindle e‑ink (USB): /system/vocabulary/vocab.db

2Load into Kindle2Anki
Upload vocab.db and review entries
Drag and drop the file or click to select it. Filter, sort, and pick the books you want to include. When you are ready, click Generate Cards.

3Create your Anki deck
Download the .apkg and open it with Anki
Select the books and translate the words. Then click Generate Cards to build and download an .apkg file.
Double-click the file or open Anki and go to File → Import.
